Dianne W. Garner

Born in Cleveland County, I graduated from Crest High, Gardner-Webb and Western Carolina university. In 1969, I married Harold Garner and moved to South Carolina. We have two children, Dr. Chris Garner. Who is married to Shelby McIntosh Garner and they have three sons, Dean, Reeves and Hudson. They live in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  We also have a daughter, Ginger, who is married to John Oriente.  They have four daughters, Sara Beth, Madison, Serena and Caroline and twin sons, Kaden and Christian. They live in Shelby, North Carolina.

My art teaching career in public schools spanned thirty-six years in North Carolina, South Carolina, Oklahoma and Virginia. In 1992, I was awarded the South Carolina Secondary Art Educator of the Year by the SCAEA.

I have been painting and studying with watercolor artists for years. I have had several one person shows. I recently wrote a book about my husband's stroke, rehab and death and how the Lord helped our family through it.

All of my work is influenced and inspired by God and I give Him credit for any success I may have.

I am a member of Buffalo Creek Gallery in Shelby, North Carolina, North Carolina watercolor society, Cleveland County Arts Council and Southern Arts Society.
